BBC jam - DNT...
Hi again all, slowly returning to the land of the living...
I'm very pleased and proud to announce that the first fruit of my labour at the BBC has gone live - a site for Design and Technology for 11-14 year olds, part of the BBC jam service.
Access it here - then click the 'play' button.
Its aim is to encourage kids to have a go with various creative processes, and also to widen their perspectives of the world in order to influence how they might design something. It's open ended, without beginning, middle or end - think concept album rather than top 10 hit - and is something that is there to help when inspiration might be needed.
It's primarily a 'broadband' site (ie it can be a bit slow at times), doesn't work brilliantly on macs (apparenly not our fault, but a personal irk!), and it's my first go at making 'software' rather than just content, so yes, is a bit buggy in places. Despite being sick of looking at it after 14 months, I'm pretty happy about it!
Do let me know what you think, and I'm happy to tackle techie questions from anyone interested.

Time Trumpet causes "UPROAR'!
Being a long-term Armando Iannucci fan, I enjoyed this programme muchly. The Daily Mail did not, what a surprise!
My favourite reader comments:
"This is ablosultely sickening. I have just cancelled my BBC licence fee direct debit in protest. This anti-British organisation has crossed the line and has lost the support of this ex-licence fee payer."
"I pay my £130 a year so the liberal tree-hugging anti-monarchists sitting in their ivory tower at the BBC can foist this garbage on the citizens of this fine nation?"
I've been called a liberal tree-hugger before, for reading the Guardian, and now I work in one of the aforementioned ivory towers it must be true.
Clips here.
