Superman returns...

... and can go back from whence he came. What a train smash of a movie! What is wrong with blockbusters these days? Star Wars 1-3, King Kong, MI3, Xmen 3, Pirates 2, etc etc, and now Superman 5: all far too long, dull dull dull, rubbish stories, wooden acting etc.

The good:

- the music
- the opening credits
- a few action sequences - shuttle, bullet in the eye

The bad:

- recycled plot from (vastly superior) original. Luthor wants land, luthor tries to make land, plans to kill people in process. Gets some kryptonite which apparently kills superman, except it doesn't kill him, it just makes him get a bit of a sniffle and he's OK again. Luthor fails, but escapes.

- Was it me or did everyone look a bit bored? Lois Lane was dreadful.

- Ok, so Superman has buggered off for 5 years to find out whether Krypton is still there. It wasn't. He came back. In what way did this contribute to the plot?

- on the same day Superman re-appears after 5 years, Clark also returns from his travels (and gets his old job back!). And no-one even mentions the co-incidence?

- oh my god, the last 15 mins zzzzzz, superman is in hospital, surprise surprise the kid who can throw pianos around is his son, and he's Okaay! hurray!! credits, zzzzzzzzzzz

Please don't make another one. Please.

Of course, this is all opinion. Christian loved it. (he's wrong)
